The 2021 1 oz Austria & Germania Silver Coins are intricately crafted to flaunt the beauty of friendship among different countries around the world. The Allegories coins come in four different weights and have the same diameter of 38.61 mm. The artistic BU coin comes with a purity of .9999 fine silver and has a limited worldwide mintage.

Key Features:

- Limited Mintage: This release is limited to 25,000 pieces worldwide.

- Fourth release in "The Allegories" by Germania Mint.

- The guilloche pattern on the coin makes it stand out.

Design:

- Obverse: The coin's obverse features Austria & Germania as young and beautiful women. Lady Austria holds a spear symbolizing power and dignity, and a laurel wreath on her head. Germania is crowned with an oak branch and holds the "Reichsschwert" sword. The two women represent the friendship between both cultures.

- Reverse: The coin's reverse features a coat of arms representing moral principles and noble values. Germania was never an official country, so the mint created its own interpretation. The bicephalous eagle is a Roman symbol associated with Janus, patron of contracts and alliances. The gold ribbon represents unity, integrity, and freedom, while the wild boar and wreath symbolize mightiness and loyalty.

Germania Mint’s visualization of the Bicephalous eagle is a Roman mythology symbol associated with Janus, god of all origins, guardian of doors, gates, passages and bridges, and the patron of contracts and alliances. Heads facing opposite sides symbolize the past and the future. The check pattern refers to wisdom and prudence – characteristics of every noble sovereign. The gold ribbon with three flowers represents the determining values of a strong and independent nation – unity, integrity and freedom.

The wild boar – a symbol of mightiness, was a very popular and respectful animal in the Roman Empire. Legio I Italica, Legio X Fretensis and Legio XX Valeria Victrix are three of the most famous Roman legions with a boar in their emblem. The Coat of Arms is surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves. A wreath symbolizes loyalty, stability and national unity. In mythology and ancient times, only people who wielded enormous power – spirit, muscle or magic, were allowed to wear it.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between an ounce and a troy ounce?

A troy ounce dates back to the Middle Ages. It was, and continues to be, used for weighing precious metals. One troy ounce is equal to approximately 31.1035 grams. Our modern day ounce (oz), is a metric commonly used to measure foods and other items, but not precious metals. It is the equivalent of 28.349 grams. A troy ounce is a little heavier, with a gram equivalent of 31.1.

2. What is the spot price of precious metals?

The spot price for precious metals is the current price in the marketplace at which a given asset can be bought or sold for immediate delivery.

3. What is the bid price of precious metals?

The bid price is the highest price a buyer will pay, in this case for gold, silver or platinum. The ask price refers to the lowest price a seller will accept for the precious metal. The difference between these two is known as the spread. So the smaller the spread means the greater the liquidity.
